Iran's top ⁠joint military ​command ‌announced the ‌closure ⁠of the ⁠Strait of Hormuz ​on ​Thursday, including oil ⁠tankers ⁠and ⁠commercial ships, saying ​any vessel ​that ⁠will ⁠attempt passage will be shot ⁠at.

President Trump said he had called off new attacks on Iran and that a peace agreement could be signed this weekend. A spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry said, “Nothing has been finalized.”

Just hours after Trump posted on social media that the U.S. would hit Iran "VERY HARD TONIGHT," he suggested that progress had been made in talks to extend the fragile ceasefire.
